Additional services include maritime operations, electricity distribution, and active involvement in developing new energy solutions, particularly solar and wind projects. Repsol also engages in the marketing, research, trading, and transportation of fuels and specialized products, alongside insurance, reinsurance, and financing activities. The company fosters innovation by developing nanoparticles and nanofibers for materials, energy, and biomedicine applications, and implements blockchain technology across the retail, energy, and automotive sectors. Its ventures further include producing synthetic oil cloths, investing in liquefaction plant projects, and providing water treatment technology management. The company changed its name to Repsol, S.A. in May 2012, having previously operated as Repsol YPF, S.A.
